What Happens When You Delete Your Account

When you delete your account:

• Your profile and personal information will be permanently deleted

• Your pet profiles will be removed

• All your posts, comments, and reviews will be deleted

• Your medical records and calendar events will be removed

• You will lose access to any subscriptions

• All your favorites and saved items will be deleted

• Your username will become available for others to use

Data Retention

Some data may be retained:

• Legal and compliance records (as required by law) for up to 7 years

• Transaction history for accounting purposes

• Anonymized data for analytics and research

• Messages sent to other users (without identifying information)

Before You Delete

Consider the following:

• Download your data if you want to keep a copy

• Cancel any active subscriptions

• Remove payment methods

• Transfer ownership of any pets listed for adoption

• Complete any pending transactions

Alternatives to Deletion

Instead of deleting your account, you can:

• Temporarily deactivate your account

• Update your privacy settings

• Remove specific content you no longer want

• Unsubscribe from emails and notifications

How to Delete Your Account

To delete your account:

• Log in to your account

• Go to Settings > Account Settings

• Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account

• Review the information and confirm deletion

• Verify your identity (you may need to enter your password)

• Confirm your decision one final time

Processing Time

Account deletion is typically processed within 30 days. During this period:

• Your account will be deactivated immediately

• You can cancel the deletion by contacting support

• After 30 days, deletion becomes permanent

Reactivation

If you change your mind within 30 days, you can reactivate your account by logging in. After 30 days, you will need to create a new account if you want to use Gatsou again.
